The 2017 Golden Globes brought a wave of yellow dresses to the red carpet this year. Some of my favorites were found perfectly tailored on Hollywood’s star powered actresses.
My top pick, Viola Davis, took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her part in the movie Fences in a Michael Kors shimmering gown that was impeccably paired with simple hair and basic accessories. A total wow factor from head to toe:

Dark skin, olive toned, non-fair complexion ladies rejoice! This slinky, mermaid, yellow, one-shoulder, sparkly evening gown is a bargain on AliExpress .com for only $80 bucks! How gorgeous would this be at an evening wedding in the summer time?
Now, pregnant in a yellow dress would not have been something imaginable by my standards, but classic beauty, Natalie Portman, pulled it off gracefully. She has classic features that make the vintage style work for her and again, we saw simple hair, basic accessories to finish the look.
Vintage yellow could be a hard look for anyone to pull off so I suggest pairing a basic white or black outfit with vintage yellow accessories as a really fun way to incorporate the style.
I found this patent leather purse on Overstock.com for only $31.99.
And, this great chunky beaded necklace at Poshmark.com for only $19!
Finally, Reese Witherspoon and her pale yellow Versace gown was in typical “never ages” Witherspoon style. Her red carpet looks are always basic yet make a statement and let’s be honest, the camera loves her.
While getting rave reviews as THE trendsetter for yellow on the red carpet this year, poor Reese was chastised a mere 10 years ago for the same color choice for a dress that was still simple, classic and her consistent go-to look.
I found a way to channel her mature sexy minimalist sunshine style on Venus.com with a coy lace mini that goes up to a size 16 on sale for $32. A beige pump and smooth unfussed hair would finish this look easily without breaking the bank.
So Hello Yellow! Welcome to the New Year and thanks for showing us how gorgeous you really can be.
