Saratoga Apple (Schuylerville, NY) – Charming and easy to access, Saratoga Apple is located right on Route 29. Once you’re there, you can pick apples, take a wagon ride and purchase tons of goodies in their market. Their tasting room is also a place you won’t want to miss. Try their hard cider or local microbrews on tap. Get ready to purchase a growler–you won’t be able to resist.
Malta Ridge Orchard & Gardens (Ballston Spa) – This orchard features 30 acres of fruiting trees, so get ready to stretch your legs and do some picking! You can choose your own apples right from the orchard, or you can shop a whole slew of pre-picked apples and fruits in their sweet shop.
Lakeview Orchards (Melrose, NY) – Picking season is open at Lakeview Orchards! This scenic farm boasts 16 varieties of apples for picking, including the highly-coveted Honeycrisp apples. Other favorites include Empire, Macintosh and Cortland. Eat them fresh off the tree, or bake them into a delicious pie or crisp!
Bowman Orchards (Rexford) – Your whole family is in for a big treat when they visit Bowman Orchards. The orchard is made up of 98 acres, featuring 46 varieties of apples. But that’s just the beginning. The orchard is pet-friendly and family-friendly, offering Apple Playland, pony rides, hay rides, pedal karts, a petting zoo and corn maze. Hours of entertainment will make this orchard a fall favorite!
Indian Ladder Farms (Altamont, NY) – With a market, cafe, cidery and brewery, you’ll find plenty to do when you’re picking apples at Indian Ladder Farms. This farm is also home to some fun-loving animals. You can even see bees in action and purchase some local honey!
Goold Orchard (Castleton, NY) – Located at Brookview Station Winery, you’ll find pies, donuts and craft cider at this orchard. You can pick your own apples and attend their annual Apple Festival for $10 per person admission (children under 12 are free).
Samascott Orchards (Kinderhook, NY) – In additional to apple picking, you’ll find a wide range of activities at this orchard, including a corn maze and charming farm store. They stock produce, hand-made ice cream and pasture-raised meats.
